CHAOTIC, 80 x 50 cm

Sforzando piano (sfzp or sfp) states a sforzando followed immediately by piano. The closing project of my body of work is an art narrative, inspired by the music itself. The build-up and the sharp sense of release, sfzp in short, introduces a trip to my memory lane with my personal scribbles on design from the year 2013 and summarizes my introduction to design and how I used art and design to construct the visual sense of space of mine.

THE NOTEBOOK, 85 x 72 cm

“The first time I was ever interested in design was the time I got a summer school scholarship from NABA Milano. It was the first time I have ever been abroad by myself, I was extremely eager to understand the true meaning of design. The first assignment was assembling this notebook and filling it with our experiences in Milan. I had the urge to share everything with myself I was experiencing.”

ORGANIC TIMBER, 50 x 175 cm

ORGANIC TO INORGANIC, 35 x 90 cm

“Creating an intermediate form between an eggplant (organic, natural and circular) and a crumpled music sheet (inorganic, angular and clear-cut) has astonished me at many levels. Eggplant or paper? None of them, or both of them? Unique or outcast? Exclusive or vagabond? Rare or fugitive? Exceptional or plain weird?” ... ”A person, becoming an individual. A, becoming the.  An interform, becoming “the” interform.”

THE INTERFORM, 35 x 50 cm

THE THING, 45 x 45 x 90 cm

PLACE FIGURE OBJECT, 40 x 85 cm

“According to the French philosopher Sartre’s essence theory, If we ignore a thing’s knowledge and images in our thoughts, the thing left would be the real concept of the matter, the essence of it.” ... “Kanun is a traditional Turkish instrument resembling a harp. Its unique sound merges with the convent cafe image on top. Nargileh, with the sound of Kanun and image of space, creates a delicately authentic atmosphere and harmony.”

ALL THAT JAZZ, 50 x 70 cm

RETRO, 50 x 70 cm

“The instruments such as gramophone and saxophone are ancient and vintage, but somehow, it still manages to be a part of the popular culture. How come? Is that the essence stays the same?”

MY WORLD, A3

“Because the interior wall paint of this space involves the Nitrosomonas Bacteria, the room produces it’s own water using the Formula of “2NH3 + 3O2 > 2NHO2 + 2H2O + 158 cal”. The design is inspired by the hexagon-shaped squares of Milan.” ... “The art deco sensibility of the space juxtaposed with the futuristic elements of art push the idea of the otherness.”…Winner of the 2013 NABA Interior Design Summer Program Scholarship Competition

A FUTURISTIC UPSIDE-DOWN IMAGE

“The inspiration, therefore, the backdrop for the piece was a photo I found on the newspaper, on the aftermath of the ongoing political tension in the Middle East. How to push an agenda?”

THE OTHER SITTING MAN, 80 x 80 x 90 cm

“A human-being, trying to be himself. A rebellious act against the role in public, a shrill scream against otherization. People always seem to feel disturbed next to an artist (in here, the sculpture), maybe because of its brightness and reflectivity, or maybe; because people realize how monotonous, ordinary or mediocre they are through its reflectivity. Tinfoil is a material which seems to be angular and has edges, but also something which can be formed organically. it is the stance of an artist in public. Someone against otherisation. Just someone, otherized. Is it me, or is it someone I see?”

THE FUSION: IT IS JUST ME, EVOLVING. 35 x 50 cm
